I’m just curious to know why this doesn’t happen often and what prevents it. Usually the prison yard where the inmates have recreation has no roof and they are only surrounded by a fence. I wanted to what exactly prevents this from happening; since it doesn’t happen to often.

There are some criminals who commit the same crime countless times. And they always get caught and sent back to jail without learning their lesson. They are basically just a burden to society. Furthermore, tax dollars are used to feed and house the inmates. If we just killed them, prisons would not be crowded and less money would be used on them. And by “multiple crimes” I mean major ones like murder, molestation, rape, etc., not peccadilloes such as shop lifting or DUI.

I’ve seen documentary shows where the inmates had cable television! I understand allowing prisoners to do things that may prepare them for life out in the real world (getting their GED, reading, learning how to cook, etc.). But sometimes I think it just gets ridiculous!
